UnoLock Fair Use Policy
1.1 Introduction
Techsologic Incorporated (Corporation Number 734340-0, headquartered at 150 Elgin Street, 8th Floor, Ottawa, ON K2P 1L4, Canada), provider of the UnoLock platform, including all services, features, applications, and websites (collectively, the "Services"), establishes this Fair Use Policy to ensure a secure, stable, and reliable experience for all users ("you," "your," "user"), including LegacyLink nominees, as defined in Section 3 (Services Overview) of the UnoLock Terms of Service ("Terms"). This policy, incorporated into the Terms, available at https://www.unolock.com/tos.html, governs the responsible use of the Services to prevent practices that could impair platform performance or user experience, aligning with our zero-knowledge architecture, Absolute Anonymity, and compliance with Canadian law (PIPEDA), GDPR, HIPAA, and other regulations, as per Section 17 (Compliance with Privacy Regulations) of the Terms.
1.2 Purpose
This policy outlines acceptable and prohibited uses of the Services to maintain their integrity, availability, and security for all users. It complements the Acceptable Use Policy at https://www.unolock.com/policies.html and ensures fair resource allocation, as per Section 3 (Services Overview) and Section 5 (User Responsibilities) of the Terms.
1.3 Fair Use Guidelines
You must use the Services in a manner consistent with their intended purpose of secure digital asset management, as described in Section 3 (Services Overview) of the Terms.
1.3.1 Acceptable Use
Acceptable use includes:
- Storing and managing personal or business-related digital assets (e.g., passwords, cryptocurrency keys, documents) within the storage limits of your tier, as per Section 3.3 (Pricing Tiers).
- Sharing vault access via authorized features like LegacyLink, adhering to security protocols, as per Section 3.4 (Key Features).
- Using features like Safe2Safe Messaging or CybVault Digital Paper Wallet (DPW) in compliance with the Acceptable Use Policy and applicable laws, as per Section 5.5 (Compliance with Laws).
1.3.2 Prohibited Use
The following activities are prohibited:
- Illegal Activities: Engaging in or storing content related to illegal activities, such as drug trafficking or fraud, as per the Acceptable Use Policy.
- Resource Overburdening: Attempting to store files exceeding your tier's storage limits (e.g., 1MB for Free, 5GB for Sovereign/HighRisk) or engaging in actions that strain platform resources (e.g., excessive API calls).
- Unauthorized Access: Attempting to access other users' vaults, platform infrastructure, or restricted systems, as per Section 5.1 (Account Security).
- Malicious Content: Uploading malware, viruses, or harmful software, as per the Acceptable Use Policy.
- Spamming or Harassment: Using Safe2Safe Messaging or other features to spam, harass, or infringe on others' rights or privacy.
You must comply with these guidelines, as per Section 5 (User Responsibilities) of the Terms.
1.4 Enforcement and Compliance
Techsologic reserves the right to enforce this policy to protect the Services' integrity:
- Monitoring: Limited monitoring for resource usage or violations, subject to zero-knowledge limitations, as per Section 9.2 (Zero-Knowledge Architecture).
- Actions: Issuing warnings, suspending or terminating access, or removing offending content, as per Section 13 (Termination).
- Legal Cooperation: Cooperating with authorities for illegal activities, as required by law.
Violations may result in liability for damages, including resource overuse costs, system repairs, or legal fees, as per Section 11 (Indemnification) and Section 12 (Indemnification of Directors and Employees) of the Terms. Techsologic is not liable for actions taken or not taken, as per Section 10 (Limitations of Liability).
1.5 User Responsibilities
You must:
- Familiarize yourself with this policy and the Acceptable Use Policy, ensuring compliance.
- Use the Services within your tier's limits and adhere to security protocols, as per Section 5.1 (Account Security).
- Report violations or resource abuse to support@unolock.com or https://www.unolock.com/support.html, as per Section 5.7 (Engagement with Updates and Communications).
- Maintain lawful use to prevent harm to other users or the platform, as per Section 5.5 (Compliance with Laws).
Failure to comply may result in enforcement actions, as per Section 1.4.
1.6 Policy Modifications
Techsologic may revise this policy, as per Section 14 (Modifications to Terms) of the Terms. Material changes will be notified via https://www.unolock.com/support.html with 30 days' notice, where feasible. Continued use constitutes acceptance, as per Section 14.5 of the Terms.
