UnoLock's Policy on Retaining Your Data
Effective as of the 2nd Day of April 2024, this Data Retention Policy articulates the stance and practices of Techsologic Incorporated ("Techsologic," "we," "us," "our") regarding the storage, retention, and deletion of data within the UnoLock application and services ("UnoLock"). Incorporating our principles of Payment Anonymity and Absolute Anonymity, alongside our commitment to not collecting any identifiable user data, this policy outlines our approach to handling user vaults and transactional information in compliance with financial and accounting mandates.
Overview
UnoLock operates on a tiered system that determines the longevity and access to user vaults based on the purchased service tier, vault storage size, and the expiration of the service period. This policy details the data retention and deletion timelines across different service tiers, ensuring transparency and user awareness.
Data Retention Guidelines by Service Tier
FreeSafe Tier
- Retention Duration: Vaults under the FreeSafe tier are subject to a data retention period of 2 years from the date of the last access.
- Deletion Policy: If a user has not accessed a FreeSafe vault within the 2-year time-frame, the data within the vault will be permanently deleted.
LegacyGuard Tier
- Retention Duration: Vaults under the LegacyGuard tier are also subject to a data retention period of 2 years from the date of the last access.
- Deletion Policy: If a user has not accessed a LegacyGuard vault within the 2-year time-frame, the data within the vault will be permanently deleted.
Paid Tiers (PrimeSafe, LockSafe, LifeSafe)
- Retention Duration: Paid tiers, including PrimeSafe, LockSafe, and LifeSafe, have a 60-day data retention period from the expiry date of the subscription.
- Deletion Policy: If the subscription is not renewed within the 60-day period, the data within the vault will be permanently deleted.
Regaining Access Post-Expiry
Vault owners interested in regaining access to their vaults post-expiry are required to compensate for the time accrued after the expiry date as per the prevailing UnoLock service rates. This is only possible if the post-expiry time falls within the data retention guidelines for the given vault's tier of service. This payment facilitates the restoration of access to the respective vault.
Upon the implementation of our data deletion protocols in accordance with the outlined Data Retention Policy, please be advised that once data within a UnoLock vault is permanently deleted, it is irretrievable and considered permanently lost. Techsologic Incorporated employs secure deletion methods to ensure that once data is removed from our systems, it cannot be recovered or restored. This irreversible process underscores our commitment to user privacy and data security. Users are encouraged to carefully consider their data management practices and make any necessary backups of essential information before the expiration of their vault's retention period to prevent unintended data loss.
Transactional Information Retention
While UnoLock champions the anonymity of its users and does not link transactional information to specific vaults or individuals, certain transactional details are retained for accounting and financial compliance purposes. These details include:
- Financial Transactions: Details pertaining to financial transactions processed through our third-party payment processors for Stripe and Bitcoin payments are stored solely for financial accounting, legal compliance, and audit purposes.
- Anonymity Maintenance: In adherence to our Payment Anonymity policy, transactional records are maintained in a manner that prevents any association with specific user vaults or identities.
