UnoLock Acceptable Use Policy


1.1 Introduction

Techsologic Incorporated (Corporation Number 734340-0, headquartered at 150 Elgin Street, 8th Floor, Ottawa, ON K2P 1L4, Canada), provider of the UnoLock platform, including all services, features, applications, and websites (collectively, the "Services"), establishes this Acceptable Use Policy to govern the lawful, ethical, and secure use of the Services by all users ("you," "your," "user"), including LegacyLink nominees, as defined in Section 3 (Services Overview) of the UnoLock Terms of Service ("Terms"). This policy, incorporated into the Terms, available at https://www.unolock.com/tos.html, ensures the Services remain a secure platform for digital asset management, aligning with our zero-knowledge architecture and compliance with Canadian law (PIPEDA), GDPR, HIPAA, and other regulations, as per Section 17 (Compliance with Privacy Regulations) of the Terms.


1.2 General Use

The Services are designed to provide a secure, private platform for managing digital assets, such as passwords, cryptocurrency keys, and communications, as described in Section 3 (Services Overview) of the Terms. You must use the Services in a manner that:

  • Respects the integrity, security, and availability of the platform.
  • Upholds the rights of other users and third parties.
  • Complies with all applicable laws and regulations, as per Section 5.5 (Compliance with Laws) of the Terms.

Any use that compromises the Services' security, privacy, or functionality is prohibited.


1.3 Prohibited Content and Activities

You are strictly prohibited from using the Services to store, share, transmit, or engage in activities involving the following:

  • Illegal Content: Material violating local, national, or international laws, including data related to illegal drug trafficking, human trafficking, or arms trade.
  • Malicious Content: Files or links containing malware, viruses, trojans, worms, or other software designed to harm or gain unauthorized access to systems or data.
  • Infringing Content: Intellectual property (e.g., copyrighted, trademarked, or patented material) stored or shared without authorization, as per Section 7 (Intellectual Property) of the Terms.
  • Obscene or Offensive Content: Material that is obscene, defamatory, libelous, invasive of privacy, or promotes hate speech, harassment, or discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or age.
  • Terrorism or Violent Extremism: Content supporting, inciting, or advocating terrorism, violent extremism, or harm to individuals or groups.
  • Child Exploitation: Content exploiting or endangering children, including child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
  • Fraudulent Practices: Activities involving fraud, phishing, identity theft, or financial scams.
  • Hacking or Unauthorized Access: Tools or information used for hacking, bypassing security measures, or unauthorized system access.

You are responsible for ensuring User Content complies with this policy, as per Section 5.3 (Data Management) of the Terms.


1.4 User Responsibilities

You must adhere to the following responsibilities when using the Services:

  • Legal Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with applicable laws, including data protection (PIPEDA, GDPR, HIPAA), intellectual property, and anti-money laundering regulations, as per Section 5.5 of the Terms.
  • Data Management: Maintain lawful, non-infringing User Content in your vault and monitor usage to prevent violations, as per Section 5.3 of the Terms.
  • Reporting Abuse: Report suspected violations of this policy to support@unolock.com or https://www.unolock.com/support.html, as per Section 5.7 (Engagement with Updates and Communications) of the Terms.

Failure to comply may result in enforcement actions, as per Section 1.5.


1.5 Enforcement

Techsologic reserves the right to enforce this policy, including:

  • Content Removal: Removing prohibited content, where identifiable, despite zero-knowledge limitations, as per Section 9.2 (Zero-Knowledge Architecture) of the Terms.
  • Suspension or Termination: Suspending or terminating access for violations, as per Section 13 (Termination) of the Terms.
  • Legal Cooperation: Cooperating with law enforcement for illegal activities, as required by law.

Techsologic is not liable for actions taken or not taken due to violations, as per Section 10 (Limitations of Liability) of the Terms.


1.6 Policy Modifications

Techsologic may revise this policy, as per Section 14 (Modifications to Terms) of the Terms. Material changes will be notified via https://www.unolock.com/support.html with 30 days' notice, where feasible. Continued use constitutes acceptance, as per Section 14.5 of the Terms.
